PAPUA Nies World.TV - Entertainment World Nies World Foundation, in collaboration with the Papua Highlands Provincial Government and the Papua Mountains Family Welfare Movement (TPP PKK), presents the Wizz Baker Concert on May 24, 2024, at the Education Stadium in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Mountains, as part of the May Grass Festival, or Owasika. It has become an annual phenomenon.
Acting Governor Velix Vernando Wanggai said, "First of all, we are grateful that the government can collaborate with social symbols, such as the Nies World Foundation, to present the Mountain Basketball Event, Football Tournament, Peak Night, and the Wizz Baker Concert. As a new province, we need to design programs for rare development steps, and we need to build traditional buildings for our brothers and sisters in the Papuan Highlands. This province is here to bring goodness to all our brothers and sisters in the Papuan Highlands. One of our steps is launching the Provincial Festival and Vegetable Festival to foster development steps for the Papuan Highlands."
The performance was part of the May Grass Festival (Owasika), an annual event typical of Wamena held to celebrate a unique natural phenomenon in the Baliem Valley region.
This festival is related to the purple color change of the grass in the Baliem Valley region. This phenomenon usually occurs in May.
The presence of Wizz Baker was one of the main attractions of the festival. The concert also became one of the biggest musical moments enlivening the peak of the May Grass Festival in Wamena.
Nies Tabuni, from the Nies World Foundation, would like to thank the coordinators of the basketball tournament, football, and fashion show. Despite many shortcomings, we have successfully presented Wizbaker and highlighted the tourism potential of the Papuan mountains.
